Harley R. Deere, M.D. –  Neurosurgery

Dr. Harley Deere is a graduate of University of Santa Clara and Baylor University , College of Medicine gaining his M.D. in 1959.  He completed his internship at Hahnemann University Hospital followed by his residency in Neurosurgery at Ohio State University Hospital and White Memorial Hospital .  Dr. Deere entered private practice in 1965 and left shortly thereafter, for a two year term in the United States Air Force in Europe .  He was stationed in Weisbaden , Germany and acted as Chief of Neurosurgery during his time there.  He returned to the Los Angeles County area, where he has had a thriving private Neurosurgical practice over the past 40 years.  He has been appointed to numerous positions including Chief of Staff at St. Francis Medical Center and Downey Regional Medical Center , Member of the Board of Directors at St. Francis Medical Center and Downey Regional Medical Center, Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Downey Regional Medical Center, President of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, Southeast District 10, and most recently, the Medical Director of Neurosciences at St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach.
